FTISLAND aim to 'Hold The Moon' and change the world in new Japanese MV
FTISLAND have dropped the full music video for ‘Hold The Moon‘ which is the title track from their upcoming eighth Japanese album ‘Planet Bonds‘.
Those of you who know me, already know that I’m a lover of all things Lee Hongki and FTISLAND and this track is no exception!
The track delivers on the promise of all the teasers and gives us a song that is restrained and gentle in the beginning before bursting to life. The track is soft-rock song that is driven by the keyboard and has a very ’80’s ‘new-romantic’ feel to it. The layering of the guitars and electronic drums over the keyboard add to the rich and full feeling that you get from the track. It’s clean and fresh and stylistically has a different feel from their Korean releases – however, that is not a bad thing, it just shows the depth of talent that FTISLAND has.
Hongki‘s vocal is strong and pure throughout the song. In a somewhat unusual turn for the group, his is the only voice featured on the track, this allows you to keep your focus on the song as the strength of his vocal never wavers.
The clip is simple, but bright and beautiful, we even get a special appearance from Hongki‘s cuter than cute puppy. It’s a performance video that also features the members reminiscing in the room that we saw throughout the teasers. A room that is filled with happy childhood memories, but we also see them surrounded by beautiful flashing lights that appear to be leading them somewhere. In the end, it leads them all to the same place, gazing up at the beautiful moon!
