TV: The Unit (Pilot)

Article: Feeldog, Yang Jiwon, Joon, Ahreum... Where has 'The Unit' been all along?

Source: OSEN via Naver

1. [+3,567, -71] Isn't this show for idols who desperately want fame?? Why do they have trainees on the show??

2. [+3,033, -47] Lee Jung Ha?? Just a rookie actor who hasn't even debuted yet. This is a scam.

3. [+2,816, -38] The point of the show is to have forgotten idols get in the spotlight again, it's wrong to have young trainees compete alongside them. They're great and all but this isn't the show for them.

4. [+2,622, -37] Instead of giving screentime to rookie actors, give the other idols more screentime... that's the whole point of this show.

5. [+2,200, -51] How to get in: #1 win over the audience #2 win over the judges like Hyuna and Jo Hyuna #3 come up with a sob story #4 smile no matter how bad you are at singing or dancing...

6. [+1,122, -16] The show barely has any chance of catching up to 'Produce 101' even with names like Yang Jiwon and Feeldog, why throw in rookies that we've never heard of too...

7. [+1,011, -13] Problems with this show: #1 trainees don't fit the show's premise #2 the editing is boring #3 the judges don't give any harsh criticism

8. [+880, -40] Yang Jiwon's singing was so good though, she was practically the only real celebrity on the show

9. [+681, -3] If the point of the show is to give idols another chance, take out the trainees..

10. [+733, -32] They all seemed deserving of elimination other than Yang Jiwon. Their skills don't seem like they deserved to have debuted at all and there were so many contestants who were just trainees. Having a sob story gets you in so what are the standards that the judges are using? Feels like they just grabbed a bunch of nobodies to fill all 124 seats.

Article: Spica's Yang Jiwon confesses to delivering veggie juice to make ends meet "I couldn't see a way out of it"

Source: Sports Today via Nate

1. [+541, -20] The reason I believe that some kids just aren't meant to make it is that... Spica debuted under the spotlight of Lee Hyori and they landed all the magazine pictorials and variety spots with great song releases but the members just had absolutely no charms... They could barely get a word out on varieties and Lee Hyori would be with them to try and hype them up but end up stealing the show because her star potential just exceeded theirs. She even bought them foreign songs and promoted them so much but got no where because the members just weren't meant to be celebrities.

2. [+466, -14] I think the scriptwriter took this story too far ã…‹ã…‹

3. [+371, -14] Wasn't she on a drama not too long ago?

4. [+60, -0] Should've just said she worked at a cafe part time, why delivering juice? ã… ã…

5. [+52, -2] This delivery concept is so funny to me because there are so many part time jobs out there, why something so specific like veggie juice delivery?

6. [+38, -0] The only thing an idol needs is charm. Even if you're pretty or talented, there's only so much you can do with that. A charm that captivates and pulls people in is a must to survive in the industry. You can see why Spica failed even with Lee Hyori pushing them so hard.

6. [+19, -3] Just fire the scriptwriter who made up this story. We all know that B-list female celebrities can make millions just selling drinks in Gangnam, who'd believe that they're going to do part time jobs to make ends meet

7. [+16, -2] We all saw 'Produce 101'.. we all saw how looks or talent doesn't matter for idols. All you need is charm to brain wash people into falling for you. Look at 'Produce 101'... the final trainees who made it weren't always exceptionally talented. That's just how the industry is ã…‹

8. [+15, -1] Spica was a talented group and all but you have to admit that it's hard to give idols like them a second chance because you're already so used to the image they've had all along

Article: 'T-ara leave' Han Ahreum, "Discord? I won't say it didn't happen"

Source: Korea Ilbo via Nate

1. [+683, -33] I remember almost throwing my phone because I was so scared when I saw her picture with her dog ã…¡ã…¡ stop posting it ã… ã…  even with it minimized, it's still so scary;;;;;

2. [+567, -29] Wasn't she possessed? Is she okay now?

3. [+124, -1] I remember seeing her Instagram back when it was controversial and she wasn't just your regular attention wh*re like Sulli. Her words were completely out of focus, she was saying weird things in her videos... she just didn't seem sane at the time. And she explained on 'The Unit' that it was for Halloween but it wasn't just that one picture but all of her pictures where she seemed messed up. I never checked her page out after that;; She said in passing that she got mental help so it seems she got better in that regard.

4. [+97, -1] She's trying to pass it off as if she took those pictures for Halloween and then weird rumors came up but that wasn't what happened at all.

5. [+65, -2] Her face is completely different

6. [+61, -0] "For Halloween" ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ Does she think we're idiots? That we'll just forget what happened when it's barely been a few years?

7. [+55, -1] She looks like your average plastic monster now, I wonder why she got all that work done

8. [+45, -0] That picture she's claiming was for Halloween was uploaded on July 2013... Why would she share a picture from October 2012 nine months later?
