Actor Kim Joo Hyuk passes away after car accident in Gangnam
Actor Kim Joo Hyuk was involved in a car accident yesterday in the Samseong neighbourhood of Gangnam, Seoul around 4:30pm KST. Despite being transferred to the Konkuk University Hospital for treatment following the accident, he passed away just a few hours afterwards.
Various reports from South Korean media outlets have surfaced over night, including unconfirmed statements from hospital staff that the actor suffered a heart attack whilst driving, but an official statement has not been made by the hospital staff, police, or his agency, at this stage.
Kim Joo Hyuk was a veteran of the Korean acting industry, making his debut in the 1998 drama ‘Letters Written on a Cloudy Day‘. Most recently he appeared in the film ‘The Tooth and the Nail‘ and recently filmed ‘Drug War‘ and ‘Heungbu‘, both of which are due for release some time next year. Kim Joo Hyuk was 45 at the time of his death.
