Lee Dong Wook and Jung Ryeo Won Don't Believe That Men and Women Can Be "Just Friends"

The press conference for tvN's new Monday-Tuesday drama "Bubblegum" took place on October 19 in Gangnam, Seoul with actors Lee Dong Wook, Jung Ryeo Won, Bae Jong Ok, Lee Jong Hyuk, and Park Hee Bon in attendance.
In the drama, actors Lee Dong Wook and Jung Ryeo Won portray two people in an ambiguous relationship who are neither friends nor lovers. However, when it came to expressing their personal opinions about such relationships, both actors said they don't believe in male and female friendships.
Lee Dong Wook expressed, "I'm not a fan of male and female friendships personally. I don't believe in it. I had this conversation with Jung Ryeo Won before. I think such relationship is possible only when one of the two people hide their true feelings. The characters we portray in the drama also walk the fine line. They seem very comfortable around each other, but there's a sexual tension beneath the surface."
"Bubblegum" is a romance drama about two people who have known each other since their childhood. It is produced by producer Kim Byung Soo who was behind successful dramas like "Nine: Nine Times Time Travel," and "The Three Musketeers." It is written by Lee Mi Na who used to be the main writer of the radio show "Music City" and the popular book "That Man, That Woman."
The first episode of "Bubblegum" will air on October 26 at 11 p.m. KST.
